Loïc Pezet

Definitely aiming for earnestness and emotion, Loïc sails in the musical field since 1995. He performs with singers, composes for cultural events, dance and theatre shows, animated movies and documentaries. He records two solo piano CD in which he plays his own compositions, no “standards”, no cover versions.
Loïc Pezet attempts to create an original style, which keeps progressing and blossoming. He is hard to categorize. His interest for improvisation and rhythm comes from the jazz (Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarret, Kenny Barron); but his music also owes its harmonies, sometimes discordant, to classical music (Claude Debussy, Éric Satie).
He draws his inspiration from landscapes, emotions, colors, images. Frequently simple and lyrical, his main themes invite you to reverie and poetry. But he also deals with the piano as a percussion instrument, like the jazz pianists he admires so much (Ahmad Jamal, Mac Coy Tyner).
